General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) Applicants


1. Applicants must have passes in THREE Compulsory Subjects including English Language and passes in THREE Elective Subjects including Business Mathematics.

GCE/IGCSE (CAMBRIDGE) ‘A’ & ‘O’LEVELS/Mature Applicants:


1. Applicants must have FIVE credits at the GCE/IGCSE O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics (or its approved equivalent), plus passes in at least THREE (3) subjects at the Advanced Level/Three Credits in the case of mature applicants. In addition, the applicant must fulfill the appropriate Faculty or Departmental requirements.

3-YEAR DIPLOMA IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION (DJHSE)


Applicants must possess any one of the following: 1. WASSCE passes (A1-C6) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus 2 elective subjects. 2. SSSCE passes (A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus 2 elective subjects. 3. General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) ‘A’ Level with passes in Two (2) subjects with grades not lower than D. In addition, applicants must possess Five (5) credits at G.C.E. ‘O’ Level in Mathematics and English. 4. Teacher’s Certificate A.

3-YEAR DIPLOMA IN MATHEMATICS EDUCATION


Applicants must possess any one of the following: 1. WASSCE passes (A1-C6) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language, Integrated Science, Mathematics plus Elective Mathematics and any one of the following subjects: Biology, Physics and Chemistry. 2. SSSCE passes (A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Integrated Science, Mathematics plus Elective Mathematics and any one of the following subjects: Biology, Physics and Chemistry. 3. General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) ‘A’ Level with Mathematics and any one of the following subjects: Biology, Physics and Chemistry with grades not lower than D. In addition, they must possess Five (5) credits at G.C.E. ‘O’ Level in Mathematics and English.

2-YEAR BACHELOR DEGREE IN MATHEMATICS EDUCATION (BME)


Applicants must possess Diploma in Mathematics Education from UCC or itsequivalent from any recognized tertiary institution but NOT Diploma in BasicEducation.

5-YEAR BACHELOR OF EDUCATION PROGRAMME IN ARTS (B.ED. ARTS)


Applicants must have a minimum pass grade (i.e. A1-C6) in English Language,Core Mathematics and Social Studies or Integrated Science. Applicants are alsorequired to have a minimum pass grade of (C6) in any three of the followingsubject: History, Literature in English, French, Christian ReligiousEducation, Islamic Religious Education and any of the Ghanaian Languages.

5-YEAR BACHELOR OF EDUCATION PROGRAMME IN ARTS (B.ED. ARTS)

(B.ED. JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION)Applicants must have a minimum pass grade (i.e. A1-C6) in English Language,Core Mathematics and Social Studies or Integrated Science. Applicants are alsorequired to have a minimum pass grade of (C6) in any three elective subjects.

3-YEAR DIPLOMA IN COMMERCE (MANAGEMENT, HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT,


MARKETING AND PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OPTIONS) 1. The entry requirements are the same as that of Diploma in Commerce (Accounting and Finance) above except that the subjects should include Commerce, Office Administration/ Practice Business Management and other related disciplines. 2. Holders of Private Secretary Certificates may also apply

ENTRY BY MATURE CANDIDATES’ EXAMINATION:


Applicants who do not meet the specified requirements for Direct Entry intothe above programmes can gain admission to the programme when they pass aMature EntranceExamination (MEE) to be organized between 13thFebruary 2019 to 5th May 2019(Saturdays and Sundays only) and 20thApril 2019 to 5th May 2019 (Stay-In mode)at selected Study Centres throughout the country. Applicants can choose theweekend mode or the Stay-In mode.Applicants seeking admission as Mature Candidates must have any one of thefollowing: 1. Minimum of WASSCE/SSSCE (i.e D7, E8 or E) or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level Certificate 2. NVTI Certificate 3. Holders of NABPTEX Certificate or Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) Certificate awarded by the Technical Examination Unit of GES. 4. Applicants should have a background in the preferred programme. 5. Applicants should be at least 25 years old by 30th April, 2019. Applicants should attach copies of birth certificates that are at least five years old at the time of the application. NB. Applicants who do not have credit passes in English and Mathematics ateither WASSCE/SSSCE or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level would be required to register for andpass special examinations in those subjects.

Entry Requirements for Actuarial Science


WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTSApplicants must have Credit in Elective Mathematics and any two (2) of thefollowing elective subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Economics, BusinessManagement, Principles of Costing and Accounting.ADVANCE LEVEL APPLICANTSFIVE (5) credit passes at GCE O’ Level including English Language, andMathematics and Additional/Elective Mathematics plus THREE (3) passes at the A’ Levelincluding Mathematics.MATURE APPLICANTSApplicants must be at least 25 years at the time of submitting theapplication. In addition to passing a written and oral Examination, applicants must have; EITHER FIVE (5) credit passes at GCE O’ Level (or its Equivalent) including EnglishLanguage, Mathematics and Additional/Elective Mathematics. OR Credit passes in three (3) SSSCE/WASSCE core subjects including EnglishLanguage, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, plus credit passes in any three (3)Elective subjects including Mathematics
